In the first half of 2010, I led the project team to develop the Better Business Cases guidance for the New Zealand State sector. I have since provided a range of consulting support and expert advice on nearly all aspects of the roll-out of the Better Business Cases programme. This has included supporting the New Zealand Treasury to update the guidance material and supporting tools, advising on process improvement, assisting the community of practice, to build international linkages and to build the capability of New Zealand public and private sector practitioners. I have trained over 500 Public and private sector practitioners and reviewers as part of the Treasury’s nationwide training and capability development programme.
This capability development programme ceased in 2014 and Treasury opened up Better Business Cases training provision to the private sector. Business Case Consulting provides a range of training support to clients, including APMG International accredited Better Business Cases Foundation and Practitioner training in partnership with Project Results Limited, a leading New Zealand APMG-licensed training provider.
In addition to successfully developing significant business cases using the Better Business Cases approach, I have assisted clients by facilitating stakeholder workshops, building organisational capability, developing business processes and providing independent quality assurance services. I have undertaken significant BBC assignments for a diverse and expanding client portfolio that includes Government departments, crown entities, tertiary education institutions, local authorities and district health boards.
